A neighborhood meeting to introduce the Tymber Creek Apartments projects will be held at Coquina Presbyterian Church on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 6 p.m.
The Tymber Creek Apartments project is proposing the construction of 300 multi-family units at 36 Tymber Creek Road. The landowner will be represented by Storch Law Firm a the meeting.
The neighborhood meeting notice states that the landowner wishes to build luxury apartments. The plans show residents will need to enter the apartments through the Walgreens at 2001 W. Granada Blvd.
There is also a retention pond and 10-foot landscape buffer between the apartments and Moss Point Drive. The plans also show there will be 10 apartment buildings, all three stories tall, with 24-36 units in each.
The landowner is seeking annexation for the land that is not incorporated into the city, a future land use amendment and a rezoning from B-8 commercial and A-2 rural agriculture to a planned residential development.

This is the only proposed apartment project in the city at this time.
The cost of the new lifeguard tower at Al Weeks Sr. North Shore Park — which the county said will also aid Beach Safety in responding to rescues at North Shore Park, Tom Renick Park and Bicentennial Park — will be reimbursed by FEMA.
The project will cost $252,872.50, said County Community Information Specialist Kate Sark in an email. It will be staffed daily by one guard, who will have an ATV to respond to rescues in this unincorporated stretch of beach.
Ormond Beach Municipal Airport staff were advised that flight training traffic may increase temporarily due to construction at the Daytona Beach International Airport, according to the July 17 weekly city staff report.
The report states that some traffic from DBIA is being directed to fly northbound over the Halifax River, and as a result, areas east and southeast of the airport may see more traffic.
Ormond Beach has issued a proclamation encouraging wearing a face covering while in public, but it is not a mandate. However, Daytona Beach, DeLand, New Smyrna Beach and Orange City are mandating face coverings in public.
