The Plantation Oaks amendment will no longer be heard during the virtual City Commission meeting on Tuesday, July 28.
City Planning Director Steven Spraker announced the change via email, which reads:
"Ormond Beach City Commission agenda items related to Plantation Oaks zoning map amendment shall not be on the virtual Commission meeting agenda for July 28th. The Plantation Oaks zoning map amendment items will be postponed until the city manager can evaluate options where a meeting can be held in order to accommodate interested individuals while adhering to social distancing requirements. The Plantation Oaks City Commission item requires advertisements 14 days in advance of any newly scheduled meeting and staff shall provide an e-mail update as more information is available."
The Plantation Oaks amendment consisted of three parts: two of which would incorporate the county zoning and development order into the city, and the third seeks the removal of the 55 years and older age restriction for phase one of the project, as well as the OK to build single-family dwellings in that phase, instead of manufactured homes.
