5:50 a.m. — 400 block of Fleming Avenue
Loitering or prowling. When confronted by police as to why he was a seen pulling a truck's door handle and laying in the grass in a neighborhood, the 34-year-old Daytona Beach man told them he was taking a medication that sometimes caused him to "trip kinda like opiates," according to his arrest report.
Police responded to the neighborhood after receiving a call notifying them of the man's suspicious activity. The man, whoo told police he was doing tree work in the area, said to police that the truck belonged to his boss and then changed his story and said it belonged to a customer. He pointed out an orange tree swing and said that was his boss, according to the police report. He also yelled out a woman's name, saying that was his girlfriend and that she was in another yard.
The man was taken to jail.
1:21 p.m. — 1500 block of West Granada Boulevard
Disorderly intoxication. A 57-year-old Daytona Beach man was arrested at a local supermarket after he got drunk and displayed "odd behavior" inside the store.
According to the police report, store employees approached him and asked if he needed any help. The man said no, and the employees then asked if he was drunk. The man told them he was, and the employees asked him to leave. The report states that is when the man began yelling curses and causing a disturbance.
The man had been previously trespassed from the store in June. He was taken to jail.
11:08 p.m. — 100 block of Black Hickory Way
Aggravated battery on person 65 years or older. An 18-year-old Ormond Beach woman threw a metal paper tower holder at her father during an argument about her graduation photos, an act that would get her arrested.
According to the police report, her father was checking the mail and saw that his daughter's photos had arrived. He opened the mail, which caused her daughter to get upset. She told police she got angry because she thought the photos were lost.
Her father declined pursuing charges. She was taken to jail.
