Palm Coast is reopening more city parks and amenities this coming weekend.

Playgrounds and water fountains at the following parks:
·      Belle Terre Park
·      Indian Trails Sports Complex

On Monday, June 15, a limited summer camp will begin, according to a city of Palm Coast news release. Registration will open at 8 a.m. Monday, June 8, and will be first come, first served.

“We have approached this reopening phase with a lot of important dialogue with our health and safety officials. It has been so encouraging to see everyone enjoy the amenities we have opened thus far. With the opening of playgrounds and sports fields, I look forward to seeing families have the opportunity to get out and play.”

— MILISSA HOLLAND, Palm Coast mayor

Residents at city recreational facilities are asked to maintain physical distancing, keep crowds to less than 10, and wear cloth masks or face coverings when possible, according to the news release.

The city has asked organized sporting groups to submit a safety plan following CDC guidelines, according to the news release, and will issue permits for organized sports once the plans are approved.

The following recreational amenities remain closed:
·      All basketball courts
·      All park pavilions
·      All volleyball courts
·      James F. Holland Memorial Park playground
·      Palm Coast Aquatics Center
·      Palm Coast Community Center
·      Palm Coast Community Center Park (due to the summer camp).

“Shutting down operations was a fast and needed response to the COVID pandemic. Reopening the city and its operations has to be methodical and thought out,” Fire Chief Jerry Forte said in the news release. “... We look forward to getting back to the summer pastimes and the traditions of families in the city.”
