In his 25 years in medicine, Paul Mucciolo has worked a number of jobs. A graduate of the University of Florida's College of Medicine, Mucciolo is currently in a full-time staff position in emergency medicine at AdventHealth Palm Coast. He's also the medical director at Daytona International Speedway and has a teaching appointment at the Florida State University College of Medicine.

"But the most important job I have is taking care of my wife of 12 years and our two children," he said.

His children, ages 11 and 9, attend public school in Flagler County, where Mucciolo has lived for the past 12 years. It's one of the things that prompted him to run for the Flagler County School Board's District 3 seat.

"I want to support the children," he said. "I have a vested interest."

Of the things he wants accomplished if elected, including health, safety, and more collaboration with students and school staff, Mucciolo said one of his priorities is "to push the divisiveness aside."

"The agendas have to be pushed aside," he said. "The only agenda that matters is that of the children. That's what I'd like to see promoted."

Mucciolo believes his experience in executive leadership positions as well as his experience with people will help him be an effective School Board member. He's seen about 140,000 patients in his medical career.

“I have a lot of experience with people at their worst time," he said. "That experience has been a unique one, and it’s been a privilege to be able to help folks in those circumstances.”
