A resident called the Flagler County Sheriff's Office recently to report a baby fawn crying in the area. Deputy Faircloth found the small fawn stuck in a fence and rescued it. The fawn was taken to the Animal Hospital to be checked out and cared for. "Great work, Deputy Faircloth!" the FCSO posted on its Facebook page.
Long time resident retired Lt. Cmdr. Bruce Van Deusen received his ceremonial Navy sword when commissioned as a Navy pilot in May 1970 in Pensacola. He generously offered to gift his sword to Ensign Barret Manfre upon his commissioning in May 2019. As Manfre is on assignment aboard the U.S.S. San Diego in San Diego, Van Deusen recently presented the sword to Jim and Cornelia Manfre, Barret’s parents.
Bunnell Elementary School recently added a FBHonors program to their current KidsZone after-school program. FBHonors programs are geared to high achieving students and use a curriculum with an emphasis on STEM subjects. At their first meeting, students utilized knowledge from their engineering lessons to create Pringles potato chip structures.
