Shirley L. Prevo
1934-2020
ELLENBURG – Shirley L. Prevo, 85, formerly of Ellenburg Depot, passed away unexpectedly, March 21, 2020 at her residence in Palm Coast, Florida. She was born in Ellenburg Depot, NY on August 29, 1934, daughter of Edward and Lillian (LaValley) Prevo.
Shirley was a member of numerous organizations throughout her life and always celebrated her devoted faith in many parishes throughout the years, including, The Corpus Christi Catholic Church in St. Augustine, FL, the Holy Cross Garden Club in Pickens, SC, St. Edmund’s Catholic Daughters, and the Altar and Rosary Society.
She never let “grass grow under her feet” and found great joy traveling back and forth across the US visiting her large family and friends. Shirley was proud of each and every member of her family and left us all with an abundance of good times and special memories.

Shirley will be missed for her beautiful smile, funny sense of humor, laughter, awesome cooking (especially her “flap jacks”), her green thumb, her energy for making any house into a home, her excitement about going to the casino, but most of all, nothing came before being a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her ten children, Roger (Eileen) Blow of Pickens, SC, Sr. Debbie Blow of Plattsburgh, Dianne (Danny) Rabideau of Mooers Forks, Terry Blow (Amber Herron) of Debary, FL, Karen King of Palm Coast, FL, Kathy (Bernie) Whalen of Plattsburgh, Laurie (Jim) Fezette of West Chazy, Ricky (Missy) Blow of Ruther Glen, VA, Tim (Laura) Blow of Altamont, NY,and Tammy Becker of Palm Coast, FL; her “adopted” 11th child, Sr. Stephanie Frenette of Plattsburgh; former husband Carl Blow and his wife Joan of Palm Coast, FL, who were her close friends; six siblings, Kenny (Linda) Prevo of Ellenburg, Harold Prevo of Ellenburg, Clarence (Carolyn) Prevo of Syracuse, Bob (Jane) Provost of Hudson, FL, Len Prevo of Riegelsville, PA, and Lorraine (Scott) Broderick of Plattsburgh; numerous grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her loving and loyal canine companion, Maddi; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Shirley was predeceased by son-in-law, Chris King; great-granddaughter, Chloe King; brothers, William Prevo, Howard Prevo, and Larry Prevo; sister-in-law, Theresa Prevo; and nieces Lynn Prevo and Christine Martino.
A funeral mass will be held at a later date in the spring at St. Edmund’s Church followed by burial in the parish cemetery.

Shirley was also passionate about always helping others in need, so the family asks that you donate blood at a local blood drive and/or provide an act of kindness to someone in your community.
