Volusia Schools closed through May 1

Distance learning will be in place until that time.

Due to the ongoing impacts of COVID-19, Volusia County Schools will remain closed until May 1, meaning distance learning has also been extended. 

The district made the announcement Monday after further guidance from the Florida Department of Education, according to a press release. All extra-curricular activities remain canceled, and school district meetings will be held virtually.

Volusia County Schools said it is still waiting on direction regarding proms and graduations. 

If you have questions about your student's online instruction, VCS has set up a support hotline: 386-626-0070. The hotline is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The local middle and high school laptop deployment will take place at Ormond Beach Middle School on Monday, April 6, and Seabreeze High School and Mainland High School on Tuesday April, 7. The deployment times are 7-10 a.m. and 3-6 p.m.
