Beginning Monday, May 4, approximately 80 Florida State Parks and trails will reopen, including some day-use areas and beach access with limited facilities, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced.
Visitors will be asked to practice social distancing by limiting groups to 10 people or less and staying 6 feet apart from other groups. Reopened beach areas will only allow visitors access to active recreation, including walking, jogging, swimming and fishing, according to the announcement. No sunbathing, sitting in chairs, or the usage of canopies or coolers are allowed. Parks will be open from 8 a.m. to sunset. Beach areas will vary per park.
