Culver’s, famous for its butter burgers and frozen custard, is under construction on State Road 100, with a March 2021 target for opening.
This Culver’s will be the second owned by Port Orange residents Davis and Marisa Ferreria; they bought their first in Port Orange in 2017. They expect the Palm Coast location to be even busier.
The Palm Coast location is next to Aldi and across State Road 100 from Target.
The Ferrerias are originally from the Philippines, where they fell in love at a fast food restaurant. After moving to Chicago and working in health care, they decided to move to warmer weather in Florida and return to their fast food “roots.”
“If you’ve made the guest happy, then you’ve done your job.”
DAVIS FERRERIA
Davis Ferreria said he was approved as a franchisee of a different chain at first but decided on Culver’s because of the family-centric approach.
“The hospitality of Culver’s was like the hospitality of Filipinos,” said Marisa Ferreria, who is the franchisee of Palm Coast store. (Davis Ferreria is the president of the company, Manila Partners Properties.)
“Guests are their No. 1 concern,” Davis Ferreria said of Culver’s. “If you’ve made the guest happy, then you’ve done your job.”
Going to a Culver’s restaurant, he added, "is like a guest coming into our house."
The Port Orange restaurant has grown despite the pandemic, Davis Ferreria said. It employs 50 people (35 full-time equivalent employees), and about that many will likely be hired in Palm Coast as well.
The new restaurant will be 5,000 square feet and will seat 120 inside, plus 25 outdoors.
