Campaign contributions in the Palm Coast mayoral and City Council races total $124,566 spread between 10 candidates. But of that total, nearly half is in the mayoral race, and over a third has been raised by incumbent mayor Milissa Holland's campaign.
Holland's large donors are disproportionately political action groups and development-related businesses.
Her contributions from development, construction and real-estate companies include $1,000 each from ICI Homes Residential Holdings, ICI Select Realty, ICI Homes Of Tampa, Venture Development Realty, Intervest Construction-Jax, Jax Construction Holdings, Volusia Residential Construction, CC North Central, MHK of Volusia County, Prestwick At Plantation Bay, Hammock Properties, and Bayshore Suites.
Donations to Holland's campaign from political action committees include $1,000 each from Building Florida's Future, Americans for Liberty and Prosperity, A Healthier St. Johns, Florida Taxpayers Defense, Conservatives for Principled Leadership, Florida Citizens for Change, Fight for Florida, Good Government for Florida, Accountability In Government, The Committee For a Better Florida, Committee for Responsible Representation and the Citizens Speaking Out Committee.
Her challenger, Alan Lowe, has raised $19,695, contributing $11,700 of that total himself. The remaining $7,995 has come mostly in the form of donations from individuals, with the average donation totaling $163.
The candidate who has raised the least in any of the city races is Dennis McDonald, who is running for Palm Coast City Council Seat 2 with a total of $1,300 in contributions, all of it from himself. The candidate who has raised the most money in the four-way Seat 2 race is David Alfin, who has raised $7,393.
In the Palm Coast City Council Seat 1 race, Ed Danko has raised $12,390, outraising competitor Sims Jones almost three to one.
In the Seat 3 race, incumbent Nick Klufas has outraised challenger Cornelia Manfre $18,850 to $10,332. A larger share of Klufas' contributions — about two-thirds — are from himself, while about 30% of Manfre's contributions are from herself.
