Volusia County Schools has created a COVID-19 dashboard to report positive cases throughout the school district, per a request to report by the Florida Department of Education.

A press release on Wednesday by VCS stated that data will be released twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays during the pandemic. The number of positive cases in students and employees will be listed, as well as the schools. However, the dashboard only provides overall data and does not narrow it down by school. As pf Thursday morning, two students and six VCS employees have tested positive for COVID-19. The impacted schools are Creekside Middle, DeLand Middle and Port Orange Elementary; at least one of the cases also occurred within the district's student transportation department, the data indicates.

The dashboard will be updated after 2 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays, the press release states. Wednesday's data will include the number of positive cases reported from Friday through Tuesday, and Friday's data will include the positive cases from Wednesday and Thursday.
