A section of West Granada Boulevard at the railroad crossing will be closed for four days, starting 6 a.m. Saturday, April 10 until 6 a.m. Wednesday, April 14.
Local traffic only will be permitted on West Granada Boulevard from Nova Road east until the railroad crossing, and, from the U.S. 1 intersection west until the railroad crossing. This closure is meant to allow Florida East Coast Railway to perform repairs and signal improvements to the railroad crossing. The City Commission approved a reimbursement agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation and FEC at its meeting on Tuesday, April 6. The agreement specified that FDOT would be financially responsible for the signal improvements, according to the agenda item. Once the project is complete, the city and FEC will be responsible for the crossing.
Access to businesses in the affected corridor will be maintained, but all through traffic will need to detour using Nova Road and U.S. 1.
