Matanzas muscled in three runs in the seventh, but lost 8-4 Deltona in their FHSAA district quarterfinal round on April 26. The Deltona Wolves enjoyed a 6-1 lead by the third inning, but the Pirates staged a seventh-inning rally attempting to overtake the Wolves at the end.

Matanzas junior Michael Martinez hit a terrific triple, and senior Sean Sparling put up 2 RBIs in 4 at-bats in this game. The pitching game for the Pirates saw junior Jacob Cope strike out six batters and senior pitcher Rex Robich strike out four batters in their time on the mound.

Matanzas ends the season with a 9-15 overall record and as second place in league play, going 3-2 on the year.
