Rosalie Ellen (Stewart) Locke
1928-2021

Rosalie Ellen Locke, 93, passed away peacefully August 15, 2021 in Palm Coast, Florida.  

Born April 30, 1928, in Ft Riley Kansas, to the late John and Bertha Stewart. Following her education in Boston Massachusetts, Mrs. Locke worked for the Kelley-Ket XRAY Company. This is where she met her husband, Donald H. Locke. 

Following their marriage November 4, 1950, they made multiple moves within Massachusetts before relocating to Southbury, Connecticut in 1961. It was here that Mrs. Locke held the position of Town Clerk.   She also ran an in-home marketing department for the Dual-Lite Emergency Lighting Company, where her husband Donald was Vice President, General manager.   

Retiring to Palm Coast Florida in 1986, Mrs. Locke remained active in the family wood working and cabinet building business, managing the office and clerical aspects of the business. She also enjoyed boating with family and friends and was an active member in the Matanzas River Yacht Club. She loved to play cards and socialize at various local clubs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald H. Locke and her grandson Brian Locke.  She is survived by two sisters, Betty Monsees of Holly Hill, Florida and Doris Roche of Palm Coast, Florida; a daughter, Sharon Gidding of Ft Lauderdale, Florida; three sons, Kenneth of Syracuse, New York, William of Lander, Wyoming, and David of Charlotte, North Carolina; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.    

Mrs. Locke’s wishes are to be cremated and she will be laid to rest at Craig Flagler Palms Cemetery, Flagler Florida. Due to the pandemic, services have been delayed until friends and family can safely assemble. Her family extends their thanks to everyone who has expressed their sympathy and shared fond memories, and to the care team of Grand Oaks Health and Rehab Center.
