Thursday, Dec. 2

OB Life: Westward Focus

When: 6-8 p.m.

Where: Calvary Christian Church, 1687 W. Granada Blvd. 

Details: The city of Ormond Beach is launching a new series of OB Life workshops, centered around concerns over new development west of I-95. The second and final workshop will touch on utilities and public safety. Attending virtually is also an option. Visit ormondbeach.org/OBlife

43rd-annual Christmas Gala

When: 6-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3; 12-6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4; and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5

Where: The Casements, 25 Riverside Drive

Details: The theme for this year's gala, presented by The Casements Guild, is "The Jewel of Ormond Beach." Celebrations will begin with a tree lighting ceremony at Rockefeller Gardens at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, and will include carols, a special visit by Santa and the Snow Queen, as well as photo opportunities. Train rides, face painting and cookie decoration. There will also be food trucks and a Guild gourmet shop for tasty treats. Visit thecasements.net or call 386-676-3216. Free.

CMT presents: "Disney's Frozen Jr."

When: 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3; 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4; and 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5.

Where: Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center, 399 N. U.S. 1

Details: This modern Disney classic is presented by the young performers part of The Children's Musical Theatre Workshop, Inc. Based on the 2018 Broadway musical, Frozen Jr. brings Elsa, Anna and the magical land of Arendelle to life onstage. Tickets cost $17.50 including all fees and can be purchased at box office Tuesday through Friday from 12-5 p.m. or online at ormondbeach.org/PAC

Saturday, Dec. 4

Community yard sale

When: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Holy Dormition Parish Center, 17 Buckskin Lane

Poker run/Reindeer Dash

When: 9:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

Where: Iron Horse Saloon Outpost, 1068 N. U.S. 1

Pancake breakfast and blood drive

When: 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Where: St. Brendan The Navigator Catholic Church, 1000 Ocean Shore Blvd.

Details: Donate blood and enjoy some pancakes. This event is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 13018. The OneBlood Bug Red Bus will be onsite, and all donors will receive a free pass to the KoC pancake breakfast in the social hall, featuring scrambled eggs, sausage and all the pancakes you can eat. Breakfast for non-donors is $5; kids eat free.

'The Many Moods of Christmas'

When: 3:30 p.m.

Where: Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church, 105 Amsden Road

Details: Celebrate the holiday season as the Bel Canto Singers present the first live concert of their 50th-anniversary season, under the direction of Dr. David Redman. Astralis Chamber Flute and Harp Christmas Concert

Defend the Loop special event

When: 6-7:30 p.m.

Where: Moose Lodge, 601 W. Granada Blvd.

Details: Dream Green Volusia is hosting two special guest speakers for the Defend the Loop campaign. Volusia County Chair Jeff Brower will be speaking on local environmental issues and water quality, and Capt. The Elf on the Shelf Magical Mornings

When: 10 a.m. to noon

Where: Tanger Outlets Daytona Beach, 1100 Cornerstone Blvd. 

Details: Tanger Outlets plays host to holiday magic with a partnership with The Elf on the Shelf. Kids are invited to take part in a morning of fun with entertainment, crafts and a reading of "The Elf on the Shelf." The event, to take place between H&M and Polo Ralph Lauren, will conclude with a scavenger hunt.
