Ormond resident's 12th-annual shoe drive is underway

Ormond Beach resident Matthew Monroe, a junior at Spruce Creek High School, is holding his 12th-annual shoe drive for Soles4Souls, a nonprofit that distributes shoes to those in need.

Monroe, who is enrolled in the IB program, has been collecting new and gently used shoes for the nonprofit since his sixth birthday. Next year will be his last conducting the local shoe drive, and he's hoping to share it with someone in the hopes of handing it off. 

Want to help? Consider donating shoes in the back of your closet or those that your kids have outgrown. Contact 678-525-3160 for drop-off details or to arrange a pickup. Shoes may also be dropped off at 176 Windward Circle in Ormond Beach.
