One Daytona is about to get a little bit sweeter.
The retail and entertainment district across from the Daytona International Speedway announced on Wednesday, Feb. 17, that Donnie's Donuts will open a 1,500-square foot space in the center island across from Jeremiah's Italian Ice. According to a press release, it will have both indoor and outdoor seating where patrons will be able to enjoy Donnie's vintage and modern donuts.
“We are very excited to be back in Daytona Beach,” said Patti and Donald Summerlin, co-owners of Donnie’s Donuts in the press release. “We cannot think of a better location than One Daytona to grow our customer base.”
In addition, One Daytona also announced plans for a new 120-unit multi-story luxury apartment complex at Icon One Daytona, representing a $30 million investment in the district.
The apartment complex, to be developed by Prime Group, will be located next to the Fairfield Inn and Suites. Construction could begin as early as the third quarter of 2021 and could take up to a year, the press release states. Residents will be able to choose from studio, one, two and three-bedroom units.
“With our existing Icon units seeing a fast pace of leasing, we are confident in the Daytona Beach market,” said Larry Abbo, CEO of Prime Group. “We believe in the lifestyle concept we’ve created here with shopping, dining and entertainment within walking distance from our apartment homes. One Daytona’s programming provides something for our residents to do nearly every week of the year from outdoor markets and live entertainment to interactive community events.”
