Shed fire near Ormond kills 50-year-old man

The fire appears to be accidental, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

A 50-year-old man died near Ormond Beach on Sunday, Feb. 21, after the shed in which he was living caught fire.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, the fire was reported around 7:15 a.m. in the 100 block of Seville Street. Firefighters from Volusia County, Ormond Beach and Holly Hill responded and extinguished the flames. The man had been pulled from the doorway of the shed by a witness, and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

VCSO reports the fire appears to be an accident, though an official determination is pending. The victim's name has not been released at this time.
