Burglary. A woman caught a man stealing cedar planks from her property. She confronted him and asked him why he was stealing her lumber, and he shoved her out of the way, hopped into a waiting car with a woman in the passenger seat and fled, dumping some of the wood into the roadway as the victim followed his car. Deputies looked up the car's tag number and traced it to a nearby house, where they found it parked next to a pile of cedar. Deputies impounded the car as evidence.
12:40 p.m. First block of Brice Lane.
Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. A contracting crew preparing for concrete work at a home site sent one of their men to ask the next door neighbor if they could park their truck on his property. The neighbor said yes. But when they drove the truck toward the house, the man had clearly changed his mind: He began yelling at them not to park on his land. They were arguing when a woman came out of the house hollering obscenities and pointing a gun toward the work crew, which retreated and called 911. When deputies arrived, the woman said she'd pulled the gun to scare the men away. Deputies arrested her.
5:24 p.m. First block of Rolling Fern Drive.
Burglary. Two teenagers were at their house when a car pulled into their driveway and a man walked up to the door asking for someone named Jacob. When told that he had the wrong house, the man said "never mind," and walked back to the car. But instead of leaving, the car turned around in their driveway and another man hopped out, grabbed the family's lawnmower and stuck it in the trunk. The car then sped off.
