Elsa weakened from a hurricane to a tropical storm over the weekend as it moved toward Cuba, which it is expected to impact on July 5.

The storm is continuing along a track toward Florida: It is expected to curve around the state's west side and impact South Florida on Tuesday, July 6, and northern Florida on Wednesday, July 7, according to the National Hurricane Center.

A tropical storm warning and a storm surge warning are in effect along much of Florida's west coast, according to the NHC.
