The Flagler Humane Society is back to offering Camp Pawprint for the 2021 summer break. Activities in July included speaking on the FHS radio show, interacting with a variety of animals — from reptiles to horses — and learning about the Humane Society with presentations from animal protection officers. Campers even had a chance to watch a spay/neuter surgery if they wished. The camp ended with a field trip to the Florida Agricultural Museum.
"We have everything from ferrets to baby goats," Director Amy Carotenuto said in an email. "Kids learn how to stay safe around strange dogs, they learn how to take care of orphan kittens, and they learn K9 massage. ... It's been a huge hit."
Both sessions sold out with "rave reviews," she added.
