Flagler County came together to celebrate Pride Month on Saturday, June 5. Attendees from all over the state came together, with Flagler County residents helping fill Central Park at Town Center with joy and awareness. Speakers, comedians drag queens took the stage in support of the LGBTQ+ community.
Mayoral candidate Cornelia Manfre was among those who gave speeches. "We celebrate Pride to stand up for those living, working and contributing to our community yet do not feel fully part of our community," she said. "We celebrate Pride to remember how far we have come and to unite as we remember how far we need to go. ... But, looking out at all of you, I see your courage. I see your strength. I see your love. Seeing all that, it’s even easier to be excited for all that we can accomplish together."
Upcoming Pride events include the Pulse of Orlando Vigil taking place at 7 p.m. June 12, at Wadsworth Park.
