Food Brings Hope recently selected School Way Café as its Business Partner of the Month, a press release announced.
Volusia County's School Way Café has expanded its support to Food Brings Hope by helping the nonprofit feed snacks and dinners to more children in the FBH KidsZone and TeenZone after school programs this year.
After a decade of benefitting local foster families, Hogue Ministries recently announced its mission to expand as the OneFamily Movement for Volusia and Flagler counties at the nonprofit's vision dinner.
According to a press release, about 120 community members, business owners, church leaders and civic groups attended the semi-formal event at the Legacy at Oak Meadows venue in Pierson. OneFamily raised over $50,000 and once the nonprofit raises $2 million, it will be able to purchase the building and land to use as a headquarters and outreach center for families in need to receive resources, training and assistance.
Founders Stephen and Sandra Hogue always wanted a family of their own, but struggled with infertility for seven years before beginning their journey of adoption through foster care, the press release states. That's when they realized the need in that sector, and in 2013, they launched Hogue Ministries.
“We believe when the family flourishes, the community flourishes,” Stephen Hogue said. “That’s why we believe in the OneFamily mission of equipping and empowering foster families through wholehearted community support. And the outpouring of generosity seen at the Vision Dinner was a perfect representation
of that vital support.”

The Ormond Memorial Art Museum is sharing space with the Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center for two in-person exhibits, and the museum is currently calling artists to apply and share their work.
Artwork for these exhibits is inspired by different aspects of the pandemic, according to a recent museum newsletter. The artwork will be displayed on the walls of the PAC, and people may stop in during the center's business hours to view them.
The first pop-up show will take place from June 16 to Aug. 13, and will feature art by Ormond Beach artists in the themes of "Overcoming the Challenge," "Bringing the Arts Back," and "Renewal." The second pop-up show will take place from Aug. 18 to Oct. 15, and the themes are "Being Present," "Community" and "Sharing Space."
Want to apply? The submission deadline for the second pop-up show is July 26. Interested artists should submit two-dimensional artwork that touches on the themes. Visit www.ormondartmuseum.org/get-involved/call-to-artists.html
