A Palm Coast alum is serving in the U.S. Navy. Keep up the good work!

In the photo, sent by the Navy, Electrician's Mate 3rd Class Alex Ottjepka,from Marshall, Michigan; Electrician's Mate 3rd Class Mathew Mwaura, from Palm Coast; and Electrician's Mate 3rd Class Amanda Thomas, from Austin, Texas, recently helped perform maintenance on a lighting automatic bus transfer aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), in the Mediterranean Sea, March 8, 2021.

The IKE Carrier Strike Group is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Sixth Fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national interests and security in Europe and Africa.

With more than 90% of all trade traveling by sea, and 95% of the world’s international phone and internet traffic carried through fiber optic cables lying on the ocean floor, Navy officials continue to emphasize that the prosperity and security of the United States is directly linked to a strong and ready Navy.
