11 p.m. — 700 block of West Granada Boulevard
Destroy or remove tomb/monument/gravestone. A 32-year-old Daytona Beach woman was charged with a felony after she was seen kicking headstones, statues and flower vases at a local cemetery.
When police arrived at the scene, the woman was walking south from the cemetery towards Granada. The reporting officer asked her to stop, according to the arrest report, but the woman continued to walk away and said "she did not have to stop and she was not going to let him harass her today."
The woman then began to run away from the reporting officer, and was later detained by a second officer. The damage to the cemetery was estimated at $500. The woman was taken to jail.
2:46 p.m. — 400 block of Hand Avenue
Burglary. An Ormond Beach resident called police when his lawnmower was stolen from his yard by an unknown man who entered through his back gate.
According to the incident report, the resident's neighbor witnessed the suspect enter the yard and knock on the door. When no one answered, the suspect then took the lawnmower and a lawn bag and placed them in the back of a Fiat.
The resident estimated the mower was worth $200-$300. He wished to press charges.
1:33 p.m. — 200 block of East Granada Boulevard
Information. Police responded to a coffeehouse due to an incident involving spilled coffee.
According to the police report, an employee told the reporting officer that as she was handing a coffee to a customer in the drive-thru, the lid came off and coffee spilled. The customer said the "very hot" coffee spilled onto his hands and the leg of his child, who was riding in the passenger seat.
He declined medical attention and police didn't spot any visible injuries. The man said he fully intended to sue the coffeehouse.
