10:09 p.m. — 200 block of Sandoval Drive
Suspicious person. A 27-year-old Ormond Beach woman called police after she saw a man peeping through her dining room window.
The woman originally had her back to the window and spotted the man when she turned around. She told police that as soon as they made eye contact, the man fled through the backyard. Her husband searched the area for the man prior to notifying police, but couldn't find him.
Officers were unable to locate a suspect.
11:52 a.m. — 1500 block of West Granada Boulevard
Petit theft. Police arrested a 52-year-old Daytona Beach man who stole six packages of polishing cloths, worth $6.98 each, from a local supermarket. He told police he had been instructed to do so by someone else.
While in the store, the man was seen putting the packages into the front of his pants before he exited the store. Once caught by the store's loss prevention officer, the man handed all the stolen packages over. The man told police that he had been stealing them for a friend, who promised to pay him $5 per package taken.
The man was subsequently searched by police, and the reporting officer found a glass pipe in his pocket. The residue inside tested positive for cocaine.
He was taken to jail.
8:42 p.m. — 800 block of South Atlantic Boulevard
Narcotics. A 20-year-old Palm Coast man informed police upfront about the presence of marijuana in his vehicle after he was stopped for having no visible taillights or tag lights, according to a police report.
The reporting officer could see the wrapper to a purple blunt wrap, and after the man stepped away from the vehicle, the officer saw a green leafy substance inside the wrap. The officer asked if it was marijuana, and the man replied, "Yeah, that's what I was trying to tell you."
He was issued a written warning for the traffic violation. Police confiscated the wraps and marijuana for destruction.
