Superintendent, Flagler Schools

I want to begin this week’s update by expressing my thanks to all our teachers, employees, and staff for doing phenomenal work this school year. This upcoming holiday weekend is well deserved, and my hope is that you can take time to spend with your family, get outside, and disconnect from the campus or classroom for these next few days.

Next week is an important week for our students. Progress reports for the first quarter will be posted. This is the time for students to assess where they are academically in this first grading period of the year. Parents and students are encouraged to reach out to teachers if extra supports are needed.

Finally, members of our Rezoning Committee met following our public listening sessions. Taking comments from those meetings, as well as through our Let’sTalk! app and email, we have put together a list of the most frequently asked questions. You can find that list here. Not every question was answered, but we attempted to address those which came up time and time again. The committee will update our School Board at the 1 p.m. Sept. 21 workshop.

Please take care of yourselves over this three-day break. We look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Tuesday, Sept. 7.
