Information. A 17-year-old girl and her mother reported a suspicious 55-year-old Ormond Beach man to the police after he came to her workplace and asked her odd questions and informed her he was writing a book about sex trafficking.
The girl told police that the man spoke to her for about 20 minutes late one night. The man told her, according to the police report, and wrote down his name, numbers and email and asked her if she knew anyone who would edit his book before he left.
He returned a few days later when the girl was working again and bought a soda. He then showed her a picture of his two daughters and spoke to her about them. She noticed he carried two phones.
Police made contact with the man at his home, where he admitted he did speak with the teenager about his book, but denied referencing sex trafficking. He was informed that if he returned to the business, he would be trespassed.

Possession of schedule II fentanyl. A 60-year-old Ormond Beach man was arrested after police found him asleep at the wheel with his vehicle still running.
The reporting officer, upon finding the man, placed his patrol car "nose to nose" to the man's vehicle to prevent it from accelerating forward, as they were in a residential area. A second officer went through the passenger side of the vehicle and was able to place it in park and turn it off. The man remained asleep for the duration of these actions.
Once the man woke up, he was very lethargic, according to the police report. As he exited the vehicle , he hid a small plastic bag in his left fist. The bag contained fentanyl.
Throughout the police investigation, the man stated several times that he was "working with the police" as he denied being in possession of drugs. He was taken to jail.
