Flagler County deputies arrested Daniel Harris-Lucas and Karly Kissel for separate cases of stolen vehicles just hours apart on Sept. 13.

Deputies first responded to the Red Roof Inn about a stolen vehicle. As deputies arrived on the scene, they observed two individuals and a dog near the vehicle. After questioning Kissel, deputies learned that she had rented a grey Ford Fiesta at the beginning of August and did not return the vehicle. She stated that she was waiting to acquire more money to be able to return the vehicle. The car had been reported stolen by the rental car company in California.

Deputies also responded to an unrelated incident of a stolen vehicle from Kissimmee in the area of State Road 100 in Palm Coast. A high-risk traffic stop was conducted at the Shell Gas station on State Road 100 in Flagler Beach, and Harris-Lucas was identified as the driver and arrested by FCSO.

Both Osceola County Sheriff’s Office and California authorities were notified the stolen vehicles were recovered and arrests were made.

“I want to thank our deputies for their amazing work on locating two stolen vehicles in one night before these offenders could commit crimes in Flagler County,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Both of these criminals were not from Flagler County. If you come into Flagler County with a stolen vehicle we will find you and take you on a one-way ride to the Green Roof Inn, in a vehicle that is not stolen!”

Kissel was arrested and transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. She is being charged with Grand Theft Motor Vehicle and held on a $1,500 bond.

Harris-Lucas was arrested and transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. He is being charged with Grand Theft Motor Vehicle and is being held on a $2,500 bond.
