Man, 64, killed after stepping in front of SUV on Interstate 95

The man, a Palm Coast resident, was struck by an SUV driven by an Ormond Beach woman at about 9 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A 64-year-old Palm Coast man died the night of March 31 after stepping into the path of a vehicle on Interstate-95 in Flagler County, according to a news release by the Florida Highway Patrol.

The man was struck at about 9 p.m. near mile marker 287, according to the news release. 

He was in the southbound travel lanes and stepped into the path of an SUV driven by a 58-year-old Ormond Beach woman.

The SUV knocked him to the road's west shoulder, killing him. The woman in the SUV was not injured, according to the FHP report.

The FHP's report does not list the name of the victim or state why he was on the roadway.
