Swing and a hit

2:04 p.m. — First block of West Granada Boulevard

Vandalism. A 23-year-old Daytona Beach man called police from a local park after an unknown person swung a bat at his rear passenger side window during a road incident on the bridge.

According to the police report, the victim was driving westbound over the bridge when he noticed a vehicle driving recklessly, eventually pulling in front of him and causing him to stop at the top of the bridge. The man exited his vehicle and approached the victim with a baseball bat in hand. The victim told police he was able to reverse his vehicle to avoid a confrontation, and attempted to drive around the man, who broke his rear passenger side window in the process.

A red stop light at the base of the bridge caused the victim to stop, and the man pulled alongside him in his vehicle. The victim asked him to stop driving recklessly, and advised that he had children in his car. The police report states that the turned onto North Beach Street.

The victim wishes to pursue charges if the man is identified. The suspect is described in the police report as white, tall, muscular, man with "possible red hair."

Suspicious incident. On their way home, while driving on The Loop, a Longwood woman and her husband saw something that caused them to call police immediately: Two men dragging a third man into the woods.

According to the police report, the couple advised that the third man appeared unconscious and was wearing plaid shorts. They couldn't see the men's faces, nor were sure of their race, but did believed that the men were in their teenage years or in their 20s.
