Deputies, crisis negotiators on scene of armed domestic incident at Palm Coast Plantation

Residents should use the south entrance to the community and avoid 80 to 120 Emerald Lake Drive.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is on the scene of a domestic call involving an armed person at a home in the Palm Coast Plantation community.

If you live in a home inside the perimeter and need to leave, the FCSO asks that you call the non-emergency FCSO phone line at 386-313-4911, and a deputy will assist you.

FCSO deputies, FCSO SWAT and crisis negotiation units, along with Sheriff Rick Staly, are working on the scene on Emerald Lake Drive as of 12:30 p.m. April 10. 

"We have no idea how long this incident is going to take," Sheriff Rick Staly said in a Facebook Live video. "Our goal is to rescue everybody unharmed."

First responders arrived on the scene just before 8 a.m. April 10. 

Two of the residents initially inside the residence are now safely out of the home.

Negotiators are working now to de-escalate the situation inside the home.

“This is a very volatile situation,” Staly said. “We are doing our best to resolve this situation safely, and we ask the Palm Coast community to remain patient.” 

If you live in the Palm Coast Plantation community, the FCSO asks that you use the south entrance to the neighborhood at Heron Drive and Harbor View Drive.

Deputies have a perimeter set from 84 to 120 Emerald Lake Drive.

If you live in a home inside the perimeter and need to leave, the FCSO asks that you call the non-emergency FCSO phone line at 386-313-4911, and a deputy will assist you. If you live in this area, we ask that you stay inside. 

Flagler County Fire and Rescue, along with multiple FCSO deputies are on the scene.

With the large amount of police activity, the FCSO asks that you please avoid the area at this time.
