"We have a rather appropriate story for National Cat Lady Day," the department's post stated. "While firefighters are notorious for rescuing cats out of a tree, this time it was from under the hood of a vehicle."

The Fire Department's Ladder 25 was dispatched after a caller reported hearing a cat crying from under the hood of their car.

Fire Department Lt. Jason Wagner, Driver Engineer Joseph Fajardo and Junior Firefighter Ashley Brush arrived to assist.

They found the cat and were able to pull it out of the car.

"It was unharmed and quickly ran off," the post stated.
