The North Flagler Wildcats 12-and-under football team won the Summer Bash Flag Tournament in St. Johns County on July 31.
The Wildcats brought two 12U teams and a 10U team to the flag football tournament. The other Wildcats teams lost in the quarterfinals.
The players on the winning 12U team were Yamon Jordan, Caleb Shamblin, Nate Preston, Tony Coates Jr., Mason Beane, Brent James, James Peterson and Ivan Gaines. Head coach Durrell Preston ran the offense and coach Tony Coates ran the defense. The other coaches were Rick Jeffries and Lamont Swint.
The Wildcats beat the St. Johns Cobras 16-0 in the quarterfinals. The Cobras had won the tournament three years in a row.
The Wildcats 12U team also won the Central Florida Youth Football League championship in May for the second year in a row.
