Aug. 23 is the last day of in-person voting for the primary election in Florida, and there are several local races on today's primary ballot for Ormond Beach voters.
Voters casting their ballots on Election Day must vote in their assigned precinct location. Find yours on the Supervisor of Elections website HERE. Polls will be open through 7 p.m. View a sample ballot HERE.
The local races each have more than two candidates and will proceed to runoff elections in November if no candidate wins outright by earning 50% plus one vote during the primary.
One Ormond Beach City Commission race is on the ballot: the three-way Zone 1 race between Tim Grigsby, Lori Tolland and Joseph Valerio.
The at-large County Council race and the District 4 County Council seat are also both on the ballot, each with four candidates.
The City Commission and County Council races are all nonpartisan. Voters will also have the option to choose the county judge for the 7th Judicial Circuit, Group 5.
Partisan races on the Republican ballot include those for representative in Congress, District 6; commissioner of agriculture; and state senator, District 7.
Partisan races on the Democratic ballot include those for U.S. senator, governor and lieutenant governor, attorney general, and commissioner of agriculture.
