Palm Coast man, 50, dies in motorcycle crash after striking deer

Two deer walked into the path of the man's motorcycle on Firethorn Lane, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A 50-year-old Palm Coast man died the morning of Dec. 4 after crashing into two deer while riding a motorcycle on a residential street in the city's F Section.

The man, whose name has not been released, was riding east on Firethorn Lane near Fircrest Lane at 12:45 a.m. when the deer walked into the path of his motorcycle. The motorcycle struck them both and overturned, according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol. 

The man was taken to AdventHealth Palm Coast, where he died.
