The Flagler County Road and Bridge Department has announced its swale and ditch cleaning schedule through the month of July for western Flagler County.

“We created the first six-month schedule about two years ago to ensure we were staying on top of complaint-driven maintenance, with the goal of transitioning to a proactive zone-by-zone approach to right-of-way drainage maintenance,” said Road and Bridge Manager Ryan Prevatt. “The schedule will be updated as needed and is weather permitting along with the availability of utility locates performed by USIC (US Infrastructure Company – Underground Utility Location and Damage Prevention).”

The schedule for the next six months is as follows (both sides of the right-of-way, unless otherwise noted)

  • December 19 to 30: Tangelo Avenue
  • January 3 to 13: Lemon Street
  • January 16 to February 24: Avocado Boulevard
  • February 27 to March 3: Mango Avenue (west of Avocado Boulevard to dead end)
  • March 6 to 10: Apricot Avenue
  • March 13 to 17: Ash Street
  • March 20 to 24: Balsa Street
  • March 27 to 31: Birch Street
  • April 3 to 7: Cedar Street
  • April 10 to 14: Almond Street
  • April 17 to 21: Oleander Avenue
  • April 24 to 28: Sugarbush Street
  • May 1 to 12: Arbor Avenue
  • May 15 to 19: Shady Lane
  • May 22 to June 23: Coconut Boulevard (Basswood Avenue to Canal Avenue)
  • June 26 to July 14: Bayberry Street (Walnut Avenue to Coconut Boulevard)
  • July 17 to 28: Cinnamon Street

“Our Road and Bridge staff do a fabulous job,” said County Administrator Heidi Petito. “Everyone from the administrative staff who take residents’ phone calls, to the staff in the field, supervisors, and, of course, Ryan Prevatt work very hard to address all concerns – prioritizing by potential impact to public health, safety, and property damage.”
