Flagler Palm Coast won eight of 14 titles to cruise to the Five Star Conference wrestling championship Feb. 5 at Seabreeze High.
The Bulldogs compiled 234.5 points to defeat runner-up New Smyrna Beach (177.0) and third-place DeLand (172.5).
Timothy McLean (106), Carson Baert (113), Kole Hannant (120), Felipe Costa (145), Bryce Dodge (160), Blane DeFord (170), Marcelo Gonzalez (182) and Seth Davis (285) all won their weight classes for FPC.
John Hald (126) and Garrick Schwartz (195) were runners-up. Ethaniel Laupepa (220) finished fourth.
The Bulldogs also beat NSB in their final dual match of the year. FPC toppled the host Barracudas 50-21 on Feb. 2. Both teams had advanced to the state duals tournament last month, with FPC advancing to the Class 3A semifinals.
McLean, Hald (at 132), Gonzalez and Davis all won by pin. Baert dominated his opponent with a second-period technical fall (16-1 in four minutes). Hannant, Costa (at 152) and Schwartz also won their matches. Dodge and DeFord won forfeits.
The Bulldogs travel to Gainesville Buchholz on Feb. 18 for the District 2-3A tournament.
Matanzas' Jordan Mills dominated the 170-pound weight class at the Clay Rotary Invitational on Feb. 4-5 to help the Pirates finish ninth among 36 teams.
The sophomore pinned his first four opponents and then decisioned John McNames of Bartram Trail, 14-8, to win the championship. Mills improved to 47-4 on the season.
Tyson Mills (152), Toryion Stallings (120) and Dylan Parkinson (132) also landed on the podium. Tyson Mills finished third with a 6-5 decision over Fletcher's Christopher Strong. Mills, who has a record of 41-6, was pinned by eventual champ Roberto Cuartero of Bishop Kenny in the semifinals. Curartero went on to win the title to stretch his record to 33-1.
Stallings finished fourth, losing a 5-4 decision in the third-place match. Dylan Parkinson placed fifth.
The Pirates will host the District 4-2A tournament on Feb. 16. Matches are scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
FPC and Matanzas each ended their girls basketball seasons with three-point losses in their district tournaments. FPC fell to DeLand, 34-31, and Matanzas fell to Seabreeze 39-36.
