High School students were asked to write an essay based on the selection of a figure who played a role in the American Revolution and how they influenced the course of the Revolution.

According to a press release, the annual Tanger Pink campaign gives shoppers the chance to save money in support of the fight against breast cancer. Proceeds also support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

And the winners are...

The Knights of Columbus Prince of Peace Council 8791's Wine and Dine raffle held on Jan. 30 generated four winners: Bill Speno, who won five $100 dinner gift certificates; Roy Rearden, who won two $100 dinner gift certificates; Roger C. Butlet, who won one $100 dinner gift certificate; and GG Galloway, who won two tickets to all six Knights' Lenten Friday Fish Dinners.

According to an announcement by the council, the Knights gave away gift certificates to eight local upscale casual restaurants to support local businesses this year. The profits from the annual raffle will support the charitable activities of the Knights in the parish and the community.
