In honor of National Random Acts of Kindness Day on Feb. 17 and National Love Your Pet Day on Feb. 20, the students at VertiFit Aerial Arts in Ormond Beach collected over $2,000 in supplies for the Flagler Humane Society.

According to a press release, the students — several of whom have adopted from the Flagler Humane Society — chose the animal shelter as a recipient of their community effort. The supples collected include dog and cat canned food and treats, dog toys, leashes, collars, harnesses, dog bedding and blankets, cat litter, medical and cleaning supplies.

“It’s essential to consistently demonstrate the importance of selfless acts no matter how big or small," said Barrie Michaels, VertiFit owner and founder. "Generosity brings joy; and ‘charity begins at home’ so, we will lead by example and hope it inspires others.”
