'No wrong door': Flagler Cares is expanding with the Flagler County Village

The Village aims to increase public access to services by removing barriers.

Flagler Cares is hosting an open house event to celebrate the launch of the Flagler County Village, a centrally located hub where organizations with a shared commitment to assisting vulnerable residents can co-locate program staff to create a “no wrong door” access point for health, behavioral health, financial, and housing supports. The event will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Jan. 24 at the Flagler County Village, located at City Marketplace, 160 Cypress Point Parkway, Suite B302, Palm Coast, FL 32164.

Flagler Cares will host and oversee the development of the Flagler County Village. The Village is active now with staff from each of the four current partners (listed below) and holds walk-in hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday. On services they will be providing at the Village, our partners each had this to say:

  1. Flagler Cares: “We will host and manage Village development as well as provide needs screening/referral, financial counseling, disability application assistance, homelessness prevention, and behavioral health/health marketplace navigation,” said Carrie Baird, Executive Director.
  2. Early Learning Coalition of Flagler and Volusia: “We will provide early learning resources, referral, and child care support services to families in Flagler County,” said DJ Lebo, Chief Executive Officer.
  3. Healthy Start Coalition of Flagler and Volusia Counties: “Our staff will be offering access to Healthy Start’s CONNECT services and wraparound supports for pregnant women and families with young children (ages 0-3). Women and babies will be able to sign up and receive care coordination, home visiting, nursing, and intensive support at the new office in Flagler County Village,” said Gabrielle Bargerstock, Executive Director.
  4. The House Next Door: “We plan to provide parenting services, mental health services, and our Putnam/Flagler CARES program will also be working out of the Village,” said Jennifer Nadelkov, Chief Executive Officer.

The Flagler County Village initiative has been made possible by sponsorships from AdventHealth Palm Coast and AdventHealth Palm Coast Foundation.

“AdventHealth is very pleased to support the mission of Flagler County Village,” said Dr. Paul Mucciolo, medical director of the emergency department at AdventHealth Palm Coast. “Every day in the emergency room, we treat many of our Flagler County neighbors who are struggling with issues including access to mental health care. Having this ‘one-stop-shop’ to connect residents with the services they need will help us address pressing challenges to the health of our community.”

All are welcome and encouraged to attend the open house event. Refreshments will be provided.
