Flagler County Veterans Services has temporarily moved to the third floor of the Government Services Building following a water pipe break over the weekend that flooded the office.

“We got our offices moved right away, so it’s business as usual,” said Veterans Services Officer David Lydon. “We don’t currently have an idea how long it will be before we can move back to our first floor home.”

The Veterans Services Office is a resource for all members of the U.S. Armed Forces – past, present, and future – including those with disabilities, whether service-connected or not.

These services include:

  • Aiding veterans obtain VA benefits for service-connected disability compensation, non-service-connected pension, and home loan guaranty benefits.
  • Assisting surviving spouses, children, and parents of deceased service members and veterans with obtaining death benefits such as a burial plot in a national cemetery, reimbursed burial allowances, government grave marker or headstone, government life insurance proceeds, and other survivor benefits.
  • Assisting eligible veterans with obtaining VA health benefits such as outpatient services, inpatient hospital care, and long-term care to promote, preserve, and restore veterans’ health.
  • Assisting veterans obtain exemption certification for property taxes.
  • Assisting veterans obtain available benefits from the state.
  • Providing veterans’ advocacy.

The temporary offices are located directly behind the third floor elevator bank, through the glass doors marked “Flagler County Administration,” and then the first door to the left. The phone number is 386-313-4014. The hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but closed from noon to 1 p.m.
