5:33 p.m. — 1100 block of West Granada Boulevard, Ormond Beach
Grand theft. Police responded to a local gas station after receiving a call about a car that crashed into a gas pump.
Upon arriving, the reporting officer said he spoke to a 45-year-old Daytona Beach man who was sitting in the passenger seat of the car. The officer asked him what happened, and the man said that he was driving around looking for a named individual. The man claimed that a "regular white guy" had previously given him the keys to the car, told him he didn't have a driver's license and instructed him to go look for the named individual. He could not provide any more descriptors or information about him other than he was a "regular white guy."
The man told the "regular white guy" that he didn't have a driver's license himself, either, but that he was willing to help him look for the named individual. While driving around, the man told police he pulled into the gas station to get fuel and that the car got "hung up," according to his arrest report.
The reporting officer discovered the man had over 20 suspensions out of Volusia County, and that he had been previously convicted for driving with a suspended license. The vehicle he was driving had also just been reported stolen from a Publix in Daytona Beach.
He was taken to jail.

Criminal mischief. A 32-year-old Daytona Beach man was seen causing a disturbance at a local gas station, as he was "highly intoxicated, cursing at patrons, swinging a fifth of whiskey around and damaging property," according to police.
The gas station convenience store manager came outside and told him to leave, but the man refused and became aggressive toward her and other patrons. One victim told police she saw the man try to chase the manager around. The victim then got inside her car and was trying to leave the area when the man walked past her driver's side door and struck it twice with the bottle of whiskey, causing damage to her car. She wished to pursue charges.
The manager told police that the man had been there since about 7:30 a.m. or 8 a.m., but that he wasn't causing a problem at first. She didn't want to pursue charges, but did want the man trespassed from the property.
Police also found marijuana on the man's person. He was taken to jail.
