Public affairs officer, Ormond Beach Composite Squadron Civil Air Patrol
Some people have it in their blood to serve.
For the last 49 years, David King has served his community, his state, and his country, with excellence in service. Starting as a soldier in the U.S. Army in 1973, as a deputy sheriff, fireman, and Civil Air Patrol senior member, he has always given to others.
Ormond Beach Interim Fire Chief David King will be retiring at the end of July 2022. He has been with the Ormond Beach Fire Department for 23 years. For those in the Civil Air Patrol, in the Ormond Beach Composite Squadron, Florida Wing-049, they look forward to the additional time Capt. David King will be spending with them as communications officer, disaster preparedness officer, and assistant health officer.
King is looking to dedicate more time with the Civil Air Patrol and advancing his piloting skills.
