Sheriff Rick Staly becomes president of Florida Deputy Sheriff's Association

The Flagler County sheriff will lead the association for a year.

Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly is the new president of the Florida Deputy Sheriff's Association and will serve in that role for one year.

Staly was sworn in during the FDSA's summer meeting in Orlando on July 23, according to an FCSO news release. 

"It is my honor to serve as president," Staly said, according to the news release. "Our role is to support the hard working men and women and volunteers of Florida sheriffs with benefits and other support."

Staly presented a $1,000 "Lend-a-Hand" for a member of the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office.

The FDSA serves 16,000 members of Florida sheriff's offices.
