A career criminal and convicted felon from Ormond Beach was arrested the afternoon of March 11 after a routine traffic stop turned into a major bust. The man has since been released on $95,500 bond.

Flagler County Sheriff's Office deputies pulled over 27-year-old Treygion Powers just before 10 p.m. on March 11 for speeding.

As deputies questioned Powers, one deputy spotted a green leafy substance in a clear container between the driver’s door and the driver’s seat.

Powers attempted to start his Chevrolet Camaro and flee. Deputies quickly removed him from the vehicle and placed him in custody.

A search of his person and automobile turned up a loaded Sig Sauer 9mm handgun and a Ruger 9mm handgun, 250 grams of marijuana, 21.4 grams of Oxycodone pills, 11.3 grams of Fentanyl. 3.2 grams of Methamphetamine and more than $8,000 in cash.

“Peddling poison in our county will land you behind bars every time,” Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly said. “It’s unfortunate he’s out on bond already, as he apparently does not learn his lesson. He had enough fentanyl on him to kill more than 5,000 people! Our deputies did an excellent job in disarming a dangerous situation. Now it’s time for the criminal justice system to hold him accountable and put him away for a long time once and for all.”

Booked into the Green Roof Inn six times in the past nine years, Powers has now faced 28 felony charges (36 total) dating back to 2013.

Powers has served three different sentences in state prison. He was last released from the Florida Department of Corrections in April 2020 and was out bond from Volusia County for various narcotics and weapons-related charges when he was arrested.

Among his previous charges are Drug Possession, Grand Theft, Burglary, Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, Dealing in Stolen Property, Giving False Verification to a Pawnbroker, Evidence Tampering, Violation of Probation, Obstruction of a Criminal Investigation, Introduction of Contraband and Loitering/Prowling,
