Timothy Pennington was a college athlete, playing basketball for Western Kentucky University. He joined the Army and was assigned to Headquarters Battery 7/17th Artillery, Fort Benning, Georgia, as a trainer on active duty. Following his active commitment, he returned to his hometown as a reservist and was assigned to the HHD 112th Transportation Battalion.

For much of Pennington’s life, he was in the automotive business, first working for Chevrolet Motor Division. Later he owned and operated a Goodyear tire store in Ormond Beach, and tire recycling plant. He worked right up to age 81, when the pandemic interrupted his business.

Pennington is a member of the American Legion. He’s been married to his wife, Bonnie, for 57 years, and his daughter Leann Pennington is a candidate for Flagler County Commissioner.
