Three students have been recognized by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office as a “Great Kid” for September 2022.
Sheriff Rick Staly met with the students Nov. 14 and presented their awards, which were delayed due to Hurricanes Ian and Nicole, according to an FCSO news release.
The awards are presented monthly to one elementary, middle, and high school student.
Luke Thomas, Old Kings Elementary
Luke Thomas exceeds expectations on a daily basis and is a role model for other students to follow by showing his dedication to learning and kindness to all.
Mitchell "Spencer" Edelstein, Buddy Taylor Middle
Mitchell "Spencer" Edelstein has been involved in the Principal Advisory Club (PAC) and musical theater, and is a member of the House Lideranca leadership team. He was the BTMS & Flagler County Spelling Bee champion and he is the first BTMS student to dual enroll at Daytona State College.
Jared Foley, Flagler Palm Coast High
Jared Foley has a weighted district GPA of 5.1. He is treasurer of HOSA Future Health Professionals and a team leader on the FPC's Student Government Association Executive Board. He is on the Robotics Team and MedNexus Team, takes Advanced Placement classes and is a drone specialist.
