OBPD searches for suspect in domestic stabbing

The suspect was identified as 39-year-old Corey Donnell Gaines.

Officers with the Ormond Beach Police Department are searching for a 39-year-old suspect in a stabbing that occurred on Wednesday, Nov. 23.

According to police, at around 2:20 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Tomoka Avenue, and found a male victim with stab wounds. He was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center, and his condition is considered to be non-life threatening.

The suspect was identified as Corey Donnell Gaines, a Black man between 5-feet-3-inches tall and 5-feet-6-inches tall, with a tattoos on his arm. Police report that Gaines fled the scene on foot prior to officer's arrival. 

Police determined the stabbing was domestic in nature, and not a random act toward the public. If spotted by a citizen, he or she should call 911 immediately.
